Why Grace Corners?

Emotionally, people are hurting and suffering everywhere with little or no hope to lean upon.  To be honest, most

messages we hear from the pulpit of many churches, today, do little to encourage and correct the situation.  Instead of dispensing God's unconditional love and grace that provides our complete acceptance by God by what God did through Christ,  what we hear is our need to do better and be better.  As if we don't have enough things to worry about, now, we also have to make sure we don't upset God.

Grace Corners was created to shed light on a more constructive and healing message from God- that God is for us and not against us. Fear is a great inhibitor. Love sets us free. The message of God's grace is a simple one:  God totally forgives us all our sins and unrighteousness -past, present, and in the future- through the atoning sacrifice of his one and only Son, and in doing so, our relationship with God has been reconciled and restored. We need to do nothing to merit God's favor.  Faith is what justifies us, not our works or performance. He did it all!  And having done it all, living the Christian life is based upon two foundational pillars:  faith and love.  Unlike the ways of the world, conditionality and performance have no merits before God.

It is my hope and desire that as you read through these daily messages at Grace Corners, you will discover God's love and grace for your own life.  May your growing understanding of His love for you unshackle your anxieties and fears that hinder you to become all that God designed for you to be.

So, I invite you now, find a comfortable place and settle in.  Set aside your cares and concerns for the moment. I believe that you are about to embark on an incredible journey, a journey which can change your life and change the way you look at the world around you.  May I suggest that you begin with day 1 in the blog room. If you like day 1, then go on to day 2, and so on.

Finally, I would love to hear from you about your experience.  Please send me your thoughts and comments to  gracecorners2020@gmail.com.

About the blog writer:  Mark Hogan

                   (Grace-Walker)

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior April 5,1972. I am married to my wife, Robyn, and together we share three dogs, three children, and six grandchildren. Through a series of life events, including a divorce and two personal bankruptcies, my life has moved from a self-sufficient lifestyle to one that is dependent on God's sufficiency.  Sometimes, it takes coming to the end of our sufficiency before we can discover God's.  My favorite verse in the Bible is 1 John 4:18 "Perfect love casts out all fear."  When I came to see God's love for me as unconditional and accepting, my fears dissipated, and I felt free. Although I minored in religion while at college, I have no formal post graduate theological education.  However, I do have the Holy Spirit within me to teach and guide me.  I rely on 1 John 2:27 to direct me:  "As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you."

                                                      In his love,

                                                      Mark
